K-IN/K-OUT
The K-IN/K-OUT is a spectacularly designed free-standing kitchen island that initially appears to be a seamless monolithic stone. With almost impossibly long overhangs, it makes the mass appear to float magically over supporting plinths that are available in a range of luxurious but unobtrusive finishes: at once massive but light.
The deceptively simple form and proportions are transformed once this imported kitchen is in use. The seamless central unit features hidden marble countertops that slide out in two directions on special runners, exaggerating the floating effect and bringing its complexity to function. These mobile countertops modify the island according to the needs of the user yet conceal all appliances and other work surfaces. This maintains its attractive appearance while remaining highly functional, flexible and adaptable.
